Biographies
Dennis Matthies Dennis Matthies is Vervago’s co-founder and creator of the Precision Questioning technique. Dennis acts as Vervago’s Chief Questioning Officer. Dennis studied physics at MIT and philosophy at Stanford University, a unique combination that is mirrored in the depth and technical prowess of our Precision Questioning curriculum. Dennis also taught for almost thirty years at Stanford, where he developed courses on critical thinking, accelerated learning, argumentation, and self-coaching. He is currently completing a book on Precision Questioning as a new form of intellectual leadership in contemporary organizations.
Monica Worline Monica Worline is Vervago’s co-founder and co-creator of Precision Questioning for business and professional organizations. Monica cut her teeth working in Silicon Valley start-up companies and became fascinated with the cognitive and emotional demands of the workplace. She did her undergraduate studies at Stanford University and earned her doctorate in Organizational Psychology at the University of Michigan. Monica’s current research focuses on how values such as courage, compassion, and candor take shape in complex organizations, a topic that contributes directly to Vervago’s knowledge about the changing nature of the intellectual landscape at work.
Robert Stocking, Jr. Bob Stocking is Vervago's Ask Master and a Precision Questioning master instructor. During his eighteen-year tenure as a classroom educator, Bob received multiple awards and degrees in the field of education. He won both a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship and the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship for teaching excellence in the state of North Carolina. Bob earned both a bachelors degree in American Studies and a masters degree in education from Stanford University. He also earned a masters degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Stephanie Bazirjian Stephanie Bazirjian is Vervago’s Office Manager. Stephanie has worked as an office administrator for over 25 years, with 11 of those years in academic environments. Most recently she was the Administrative Coordinator for the School of Music and Dance at San Diego State University, preceded by four years as the Office Manager/Technology Resources Specialist at the Center for Teaching and Learning at Stanford University. She earned her B.A. degree in music performance from the City University of New York, where she graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Wendy Harrah Wendy Harrah is Vervago's Director of Internal Operations. Her diverse professional experience provides an ideal background for infrastructure management at Vervago, where she develops flexible processes to ensure employees have the resources they need to work effectively with clients in an ever-changing environment. After receiving her B.S.B.A. from Valparaiso University, Wendy spent five years as human resources manager for an office equipment distributor. She then opted to make a considerable career shift that began with attaining her masters degree in social work from The University of Georgia. Wendy later earned her clinical licensure during her decade tenure as a public school social worker in Atlanta.
Kristin Lamendola Kristin Lamendola is Vervago's Director of Strategic Sales and Marketing. In preparation for managing client relationships for Vervago, Kristin made career stops at a software company, the US Department of Education, a golf industry leader and a global IT company. Along the way she honed her sales, marketing and customer service skills while constantly searching for new and more effective ways to improve the customer experience. Kristin studied Sociology at Princeton University, where she was awarded a bachelors degree with honors. She also holds a masters degree in Educational Leadership from George Washington University.
